How Operance works

A governed sequence, not a marketplace.

Operance is institutional engagement infrastructure. Governance, chronology and controlled contact exist because senior construction and development engagements warrant them — not as friction, but as the record itself.

1. 01

   Role

   A business defines the role: discipline, sector, value band, geography, expected duration, engagement type, and whether it is open or confidential. The role is the reference against which everything else is recorded. Business Core includes one active role; Business Platform up to five.

2. 02

   Governed introduction and NDA

   The business requests an introduction to a published operator against the role, reserving one introduction credit. The operator accepts, declines or asks for more information. Where the role is confidential, both parties accept the platform NDA before identities and messaging are released. The credit is returned automatically if the operator declines, if the introduction expires unanswered, or if the NDA is not completed within the disclosure window. No Operance fee arises from an introduction.

3. 03

   Conversation and proposal

   Once accepted, a thread opens against the engagement record. Terms are formalised in a structured, versioned proposal — scope, the operator's own fee basis, milestones, expenses, notice and acceptance deadline. The operator's fees are agreed and paid directly between the parties.

4. 04

   Declaration of Intent

   Either party records the agreed engagement — value, start date, duration and path — and the counter-party confirms it. The declaration records what has been agreed. No Operance fee arises from a Declaration of Intent.

5. 05

   Engagement Activation

   Once work has actually commenced, either party requests activation and the other independently confirms. Only then does the single, fixed £3,500 Engagement Activation Fee (excluding VAT) become payable by the business. It is not variable or contingent on engagement value, and nothing is deducted from the operator's remuneration.

6. 06

   Continuity and protected introduction

   The engagement record continues as a single chronology through renewals and scope changes. An accepted introduction is protected for twelve (12) months from the date it is accepted, covering the operator and any entity they control (including a personal service company), and the business, its group entities and anyone engaging on its behalf.
